How to order replacement number plates online
A practical checklist for replacing a front plate, rear plate or pair, from choosing the size to checking your order details.

Decide whether you need one plate or a pair
If only one plate needs replacing, select the correct position: white for the front or yellow for the rear. Choose a pair if you want matching finishes on both ends of the vehicle. Check this selection before payment; the registration alone does not tell us which position you need.
Replacing one plate is also a good time to check the condition of the other. Look for cracks, peeling layers, loose fixings and any damage that makes the registration hard to read.
Measure before choosing a size
Measure the existing plate and the available mounting space. Do not judge fit from a photograph alone. Consider recesses, holders and screw positions as well as overall width and height.
Our builder includes several car sizes and a separate bike builder. If the vehicle has an unusual mounting area, contact us with measurements before ordering. A small mounting area does not automatically make a smaller registration layout suitable for road use.
Choose a finish and review your registration
Compare 2D Standard, 3D Gel and the available 4D styles using the close-up photographs. If you are trying to match an existing raised plate, send us a photograph rather than assuming every supplier uses the same finish.
Enter the registration carefully, select Road Legal for a road-use order and check every letter and digit. For a display order, choose Show Plates and review the spacing exactly as entered.
Prepare your documents
For road-use plates, a registered supplier needs proof of identity and entitlement to the registration. GOV.UK lists acceptable documents, including a driving licence for identity and a V5C as one example of entitlement evidence. Check the official list if you hold a different document.
Contact Vista if you need help with document submission. Do not post identity documents in public reviews or social media comments.
Check the complete order
Review the plate position, size, finish, badge, border and fixings before checkout. Read the current price and delivery information, and check your delivery address. If you need the plates for a specific date, ask us to confirm arrangements before ordering.
